Founder of Grief Making, Elisa Valentine, is a self-taught Abstract Artist from the West Coast of Canada, a published author, and a Certified Therapeutic Arts Facilitator. Her studio is based at field & onto in Vancouver.

After the sudden loss of her brother in 2023, Elisa inherited his beloved paint brushes. At first reluctant to use them, she slowly began to incorporate them into the creation of her pieces. The process transformed her life and art in ways she couldn’t possibly have imagined giving her comfort, courage, and a tangible container for her grief. Her mission is to bring the artistic process within reach to others who have felt the loss of someone, or something, with the hope that they can also find healing through creating.
